- 2006 Ford Ranger Montana 2.5TDI
Hi Guys,
Have a 2006 Ford Ranger Montana.
I have a strange issue where by the fuel gauge sometimes does not indicate the fuel correctly. Let me explain, I put in a certain amount of fuel and know where the needle should be and this works fine 90% of the time. Then i would stop at a shop, pop out and when I get back and start it up again it would suddenly show muuuuch lower with the fuel warning light coming one. Next time the vehicle is switched off and back on again it would be back to normal again. Some days the needle would indicate the correct amount of fuel but the fuel warning light would come on. What could be causing this, is it a faulty fuel sender or some ECU issue, although I am not sure if these even have some kind of ECU.
Any advise and comments are appreciated.
